Halloween is just about here and I'd like to share the my favorite seasonal recipe. You can follow my directions, but feel free to add your own if you wish.
Here's my recipe for:
MAKING YOURSELF CRAZY
(adapted for Halloween)
2. Buy necessary materials to get started right away, because by starting in August that means you'll be done by early October for sure.
3. Sew your little heart out, make good progress, then just STOP. You are now totally sick of sewing.
4. Wait until right before your kids need to wear their costumes to finish what you started a month and a half ago.
5. Stay up until the wee hours of the morning trying to finish stupid costumes that no longer sound like they were ever a good idea to start.
6. Think back to the last few years when all you did was order the kids costumes online. Life was good and peaceful in those days.
7. Make sure that every finger is stabbed, burnt, or pricked in the process and now displays a lovely collection of band aids with ointment oozing out of them.
8. Now that you can hardly move your fingers, it time to really get cracking and get finished!
9. Make sure you pay extra special attention to all the teeny, tiny details of the costumes. People will be looking close and notice how much time you took to hand embroider that shirt, or the hours it took to make those special buttons. Its totally worth it, go ahead and spend all those extra hours doing it!
10. You're done! Now that you are sleep deprived, moody, and your house looks like a bomb went off in it, aren't you so proud of your accomplishment?! I bet you just can't wait to try this again next year!
