milestones

Today is a special day.
Today is my 15th wedding anniversary! Can you believe it? I'm kinda feeling old now.
Today is also "hump" day for my baby girl.

null

That means  in just 20 weeks or less she will be here in my arms.
I still can hardly believe she's coming.
But I will surely enjoy my last 20 weeks with my wiggly little one.

the new girl

null

We found out this week that #3 is indeed a baby girl.
We are so excited for little sister to join our family this spring!

To answer a few questions:
1. She is due May 7th
2. I am feeling great and have not been "sick", that is if you
don't count the 5 colds I've had this fall!

snow

Did you know that my kids LOVE snow?
When we drove into Park City yesterday and it was snowing, the little one squealed in delight.
Today they just could not wait to get outside and play. Although we didn't come to ski we still had a ton of fun at the Park City resort today.

First we skated. Big Sis is a pro at skating......

but it was Lil Red's first time.

Photobucket

But after some falls and some tears, he finally got the hang of it.

We made snow balls (and snow muffins) and snow angels.

Photobucket

And then we warmed up with some hot chocolate.

Photobucket

Then we headed back out where Daddy and Big Sis got to ride the zip line and Alpine coaster. Photobucket
They said it was super fun!

Lil Red learned how to shield himself from flying snowballs from Daddy,

And finally we (but not me) relaxed in the indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs.

My kids totally passed out tonight and I can't imagine why.

done

If you know me you know that I'm a DIY'er. I love to tear things apart and try to make them beautiful on a budget.
If you know me you also know that I have a hard time finishing things because I get bored or frustrated!
But last week I actually finished something. It took all summer, but I did it.

My dryer broke for the second time last May and my washer was really struggling so we decided to get a new set. I got front end ones, but didn't want to spend $500 extra just for the drawer pedistools. So because of that, this project was born.

Photobucket

Now this is really a "during"photo because I always start tearing things apart too soon. I already redid this area (it's in my garage) once after we moved in because it was super nasty!! I  replaced the window and added drywall, a ceiling, paint and simple shelving. But with a sleek new washer/dryer I wanted it to look cooler and be more functional with more storage (something we are in desperate need of).

Ready for the after?

Photobucket

Using leftover green paint, and building the cabinet and pedistool from scratch I was able to redo this area for about $150! And I did it all by myself (my mom usually helps with things like this)!
The cabinet holds a lot of stuff and keeps it hidden, which I love. Although you have to be super tall to reach anything above the first shelf!

Now it's back to finishing all the other projects I've started :( . My mom is coming soon, maybe she can help motivate me.

quiet

This morning my house is quiet. Too quiet.
Photobucket
It might have something to do with the fact that this guy is missing.
Missing me, that is. Or me missing him is probably more accurate.
Today preschool started and that means my baby is one step closer to being "big".
Photobucket
"Um Mom, dere are lots of kids here."

Photobucket

Photobucket
He was apprehensive, but brave.
With a kiss and a hug for luck he ventured in.

Photobucket
And I left with empty arms.
12:00 can't come soon enough.

And because I can't forget Big Sis who started school almost 3 weeks ago here are
her first day pictures.

Look out 5th grade!

MIA

We've been kinda scarce around town this summer.
But don't worry, we're surviving.
And we'll be back soon.

random thoughts

When you don't blog for a while you start to feel guilty cause you daughter keeps asking why I didn't put this-or-that on my blog. Truthfully-I hate uploading pictures. If they would just magically appear on my computer I would be tickled pink. So in an effort to clear my conscience, here we go (in no particular random order).

I had a few requests to see the purple feather in Big Sis's hair.
Photobucket
Just a little hair bling (most of the time you can't even see it)
Big Sis is also sporting some other new bling.
Photobucket
Teal braces-they're all the rage now. She loves them (but my bank account does not).

I did this yesterday for 11 hours.
Photobucket
But we made it safely to a land where this(see below) is abundant.
Photobucket
Yum.

Lil' Red just finished swim lessons.
Photobucket
He is now very comfortable in the water.

I have been sewing more lately.
Photobucket
Lil' Red loves sporting these cool pants I made him.

Never posted an Easter picture. (I told you this was random stuff here).
Photobucket
Yup. I made the dress and bow tie too.
That white fur ball is Marshmallow. We think he's cute.

Did you know that we have lived in CA for 7 years? Unfortunately we are still in the same teeny house. One of these days I'll find old before and after pictures. But for now a quick look at our backyard that has taken many years to look decent.

My dad did most of it. It's not finished  (will it ever be?) but it looks tons better!

And finally,

We will be missing this smile around here. She is taking a road trip with her Grandma back to Canada. Her cousins are anxiously awaiting her arrival so they can play American Girl dolls and have sleepovers. We will miss you!

flying

flying
This girl can jump.
Like really jump.
Today she jumped  a whopping 12 feet 2.5 inches.
She broke the  record for her track team long jump today.
The record, 11' 11.5 ", that she had just set 3 weeks ago.
She is #2 in long jump for our whole conference (just 1.5 inches behind #1).
Her motivation today was a promise to get a hair feather if she broke 12 feet.
It worked, and she is now sporting a purple feather in her hair.

Best $8 bribe ever.

fuzzy photo montage

Lil' Red discovered how to take pics on my iphone the other day. I now have my own little paparazzi.
Here's a day in the exciting life of Lil' Red and me.
